<p>On Monday, the official trailer for the upcoming Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly” was released. The six-hour docuseries highlights the multiple women who have accused the R&;B singer of sexual, mental and physical abuse.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/surviving-r-kelly-trailer-lifetime-docuseries-745467/">Rolling Stone</a></em>, the docu-series will touch on R. Kelly’s &#8220;controversial past from 1970 to the present day.&#8221; The series includes over 50 interviews, including the singer’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly, ex-girlfriend Kitti Jones and brothers Carey and Bruce. It also includes spots from John Legend, R&;B artist Sparkle, Wendy Williams, and civil rights activist Tarana Burke.</p>
<p>The docuseries will air in three installments starting on Thursday, January 3<sup>rd</sup> at 9pm and will continue on January 4<sup>th</sup> and 5<sup>th</sup> at the same time.</p>
<p>Lifetime announced the project back in May, Dream Hampton, the projects executive producer said in a statement, “Some very brave black women have trusted us with their stories, their truth, and their trauma. They are survivors, and I’m honored to share their stories with the world.”</p>
<p>At the beginning of the preview clip, a woman narrates, “There’s a difference between R. Kelly and Robert. R. Kelly’s this fun, laughing, loving guy, but Robert…is the devil.&#8221;</p>
<p>R. Kelly has denied the accusations against him multiple times.</p>
<p>The #MuteRKelly movement started to gain momentum back in May and celebrities such as John Legend, Janelle Monae, Ava DuVernay, Viola Davis, and Shonda Rhimes <em><a href="https://www.vibe.com/2018/05/john-legend-janelle-monae-more-join-muterkelly-movement//">tweeted</a></em> their support for the movement.</p>
