<p>It’s that time of year again when Apple Music recognizes the artists that have been killing the game all year long. The <em><a href="https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2020/11/apple-announces-second-annual-apple-music-awards/">award show</a></em> honors artists in five different categories which are, Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Top Song of the Year, and Top Album of the Year.</p>
<p>The winners for this year’s award show include Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, and Taylor Swift.</p>
<p>Lil Baby was awarded Artist of the Year and talked about the achievement. He said, “This year has changed me a lot. Now that I’m an artist, I feel like my voice can get heard through my music and I needed to say something. And my fans listened. So thank you to my fans and thank you to Apple Music for giving me a special way to connect to my fans.”</p>
<p>Megan Thee Stallion, who is preparing to release her debut album on Friday, was awarded the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award and said, “I am so excited to be the Breakthrough Artist of the Year. This is a really big accomplishment for me. Apple Music has been rocking with me for so long, even before making me an Up Next artist, and I am just very appreciative and very grateful. I will forever love ya’ll as much as ya’ll love me.”</p>
<p>Roddy Ricch is the only artist to win two awards as he earned the achievements for Song of the Year,” with his hit single “The Box,” and also Top Album of the Year for debut studio album “Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial.”</p>
<p>“My first phone was the iPhone. It’s crazy making music could get me to the point where a platform like Apple could honor me or put me on a pedestal,” said Roddy. “I just appreciate Apple Music to the farthest extent. Winning this award motivates me to work even harder. This is confirmation that I am on the right track and doing what I gotta do to be the greatest in my own right.”</p>
<p>Taylor Swift is the recipient of the Songwriter of the Year Award.</p>
<p><em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/lizzo-and-lil-nas-x-announced-as-winners-for-apples-first-ever-apple-music-awards/">Last year</a></em>, Lizzo and Lil Nas X were among the winners.</p>
<p>The celebration for the Apple Music Awards starts on December 14<sup>th</sup>, with a number of events that will stream across Apple’s platforms.</p>
