The Old Town Road has just gone down in history! After months of continuously breaking records, Lil Nas Xs massive hit song has officially broken the record for most weeks at number onedethroning Mariah Careys One Sweet Day and Luis Fonis, Daddy Yankee and Justin Biebers Despacito.
If you thought Old Town Road was going away anytime soon, you definitely thought wrong. As reported by @Complex, the song has managed to break years-long Billboard records, most notably Mariah Careys One Sweet Day which held the record for the most weeks at number one with 16 for her 1995 hit single with Boyz II Men.
Lil Nas X has spent a whopping 17 weeks with the number one song in the country, meaning that not only has he made chart history, but he also is shoo-in for multiple Billboard Music Awards in 2020.
The only thing left for Lil Nas X to do now is to sit back and see just how high his song can climb the charts. Will he cap out at 17 or will he make it to 20 weeks at number one? Well have to wait and see!
Roommates, what are your thoughts on Lil Nas Xs achievement?
