<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As the festival season ramps up, fans of Tunechi will no longer be able to see him hit the stage in the U.K. for the first time in fourteen years. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lil Wayne was scheduled to headline the Strawberries &; Creem festival this Saturday, but United Kingdom&#8217;s Home Office has other plans. According to <a href="https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/lil-wayne-denied-entry-into-uk-ahead-of-strawberries-and-creem-festival-set-news.153612.html">Hotnewhiphop</a>, the United Kingdom&#8217;s Home Office denied Lil Wayne entry into the country in a last-minute decision. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In a statement provided to Rolling Stone, the Home Office explained, </span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Any individual who has been sentenced to a custodial sentence of 12 months or more must have their application refused.&#8221; Strawberries &; Creem also released a statement regarding the matter. &#8220;We are deeply disappointed by this sudden and negative ruling,&#8221; the statement read. &#8220;We have received very minimal notice, and the timing of the decision is, of course, upsetting for all involved &#8211; including Lil Wayne&#8217;s fans, as well as the festival team. Across the weekend, we still have an incredible array of artists joining us.&#8221;</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unfortunately, this marks the second festival that Wayne has been unable to attend. He was scheduled to perform at the Governor&#8217;s Ball in New York City last weekend, but the festival cited a flight disruption and replaced his slot with A$AP Ferg. Ferg was already booked to replace the Migos who dropped out. Wayne has seemingly stayed out of trouble this year. However, it looks like the problem could be from his December 2020 run-in. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As we previously reported, the New Orleans native pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon stemming from weapons charges in 2007. Wayne was looking at a potentially hefty sentence of up to 10 years in prison, but former <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/donald-trump-grants-clemency-to-lil-wayne-and-kodak-black-in-his-last-day-of-office/">President Trump pardoned the rapper</a> on his last full day in office in January 2021.</span></p>
