<p>Lil Wayne began his acceptance speech by explaining to the crowd how rare it is to see someone reach his stature of success, coming from New Orleans.</p>

<p>Wayne went on to recall an emotional moment he shared with his mother Jacinda Carter when he was 14 years old.</p>

<p>The 40-year-old went on to thank the mother of his first child <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/exclusive-reginae-carter-talks-being-daughter-to-rap-royalty-paving-her-own-lane-armon-warren-yfn-lucci-split-new-money-moves-stepping-into-the-shade-room/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reginae Carter</a>, <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/congrats-toya-johnson-marries-robert-red-rushing-in-romantic-cabo-san-lucas-ceremony-reginae-catches-the-bouquet-more-photos/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Toya Johnson</a>. This includes a 14-year-old named Dwayne Carter III, whom he shared with Sarah Vivan; a 13-year-old Kameron Carter, whom he shares with actress <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/lauren-london-you-people-premiere-netflix/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lauren London</a>; and a 13-year-old Neal Carter, whom he shares with singer <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/nivea-speaks-on-becoming-close-friends-with-lauren-london-after-they-found-out-the-were-pregnant-by-lil-wayne-at-the-same-time/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nivea</a>.</p>
