<p>Rapper <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/lil-wayne-honored-with-his-own-exhibit-at-national-museum-of-african-american-music-for-40th-birthday/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lil Wayne</a> is spreading some holiday cheer with his latest initiative. The 40-year-old teamed up with fellow Young Money mate <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/lil-wayne-nicki-minaj-drake-reunite-on-stage-in-toronto-during-the-young-money-reunion-videos/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mack Maine</a> and threw a celebration for 150 high-achieving students at a Dave &; Busters in New Orleans.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">&#8220;A Weezy Christmas&#8221;</h3>
<p>According to <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2022/12/18/lil-wayne-mack-maine-host-kids-teens-dave-busters-party-new-orleans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a>, the rappers teamed up with Wilson Sporting Goods for the event called &#8220;A Weezy Christmas.&#8221; It celebrated students between the ages of 12 and 16 for &#8220;excelling in academics&#8221; and participating in local community sports programs.</p>
<p>In addition to playing the Dave &; Busters games and taking photos with Santa Clause, each student was also treated to brand-new sports equipment.</p>
<p>Lil Wayne, also referred to as Lil Tunechi, took to Instagram to share photos of the event. As well as some words.</p>

<p>In an exclusive press release shared with <a href="https://www.billboard.com/music/rb-hip-hop/lil-wayne-gifts-sporting-equipment-children-1235189463/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Billboard</a>, the rapper spoke further about the event.</p>
<blockquote><p>Whether it’s learning about sportsmanship, teamwork, or just using the field as a way to escape everyday stresses, we wanted to make sure these kids get to experience impactful moments.</p></blockquote>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Lil Wayne&#8217;s Additional Philanthropic Efforts</h3>
<p>Outside of the Christmas party, Wayne is also giving back to his hometown of New Orleans in other ways. According to <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2022/12/18/lil-wayne-mack-maine-host-kids-teens-dave-busters-party-new-orleans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a>, the &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8Gf4-eT3w0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">How To Love</a>&#8221; rapper is also working on an athletic program in Harrell Park.</p>
<p>In addition, he and Mack Maine are working with two mentorship programs that encourage children to dream big and become leaders in their communities.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Wayne Is Giving Back Despite It Being His Season To Receive</h3>
<p>The 40-year-old recently achieved Diamond certification for his 2008 single &#8220;Lollipop.&#8221; The achievement was awarded by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).</p>
<p>Wayne took to Instagram to share his shock and Diamond plaque with the world. He also thanked his co-writer, the late <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/new-aaliyah-biography-reveals-she-secretly-dated-static-major-who-initially-wrote-are-you-that-somebody-to-her-exclusive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Static Major</a>.</p>
