Lil Wayne Speaks Out About The Murder Of George Floyd By Urging People Not To Blame All Police—“My Life Was Saved By A White Cop”

#Roommates, Lil Wayne just publicly spoke out about the senseless murder of George Floyd at the hands of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin—but his comments may surprise you. Lil Wayne urged black people not to place blame for police brutality on all police officers, specifically white cops because one saved his life in the past.

@BossipOfficial reports, during a recent episode of Lil Wayne’s Beats 1 show, “Young Money Radio,” he detailed his stance on police brutality following the riots and protesting currently occurring across the country as a response to the heart-breaking death of George Floyd. As many Lil Wayne fans may already know, when he was 12-years-old he shot himself and he says his life was saved by Deputy Robert Hoobler, a white police officer—and that incident is the reason for his stance on the police.

Lil Wayne had this to say about not blaming all cops for incidents of police brutality:

“My life was saved when I was young. … Shot myself. My life was saved by a white cop. Uncle Bob. So from, therefore, you have to understand the way I view police, period. … There was a bunch of black cops that jumped over me by that door with that hole in my chest. He refused to. We have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody or a certain race or everybody with a badge.”

Interestingly, Deputy Robert Hoobler was fired from the force back in 2012 following his repeated tasing of a Louisiana man while calling him racial slurs, including the N-word, during an arrest.

Wayne also stated that, “Understand that I go through situations too. We all got our situations. Don’t judge no one for no reason. Don’t judge. Do you. … Help out in any way that you can. We can only win it together.”
