Tory Lanez Addresses His Time In LA County Jail & Updates Fans On His Condition In Prison

A video was shared on Tory Lanez’s official Instagram account on Monday. The clip featured a phone on the floor, with the name Tory across the caller ID dashboard. As the rapper began to speak, he directly addressed his fans.

“Ayo Umbrellas, what’s good,” he began. “I’m talking to you live from prison right now.”

As he continued, the rapper shared that he is “just happy to get out that bulls**t county jail.” Additionally, he seemingly explained that the people there were “hating on” him.

Lanez went on to describe the alleged conditions he faced in the jail.

“Had me on 24-hour lockdown, half-sized cell by myself, no windows, no mirrors,” he continued. “…ain’t even seen himself in a whole year…”

Despite the alleged conditions, Lanez explained that “with all the disadvantages against” him, his head has “always been held high.” Additionally, the rapper explained that he is in “great spirits.”

“I’m in great spirits — my drive and my ambition is growing stronger and stronger every day.”

The Rapper Shares Uplifting Words For His Fans

As the rapper continued, he shared that he is “so proud” of his fans. Additionally, he shared uplifting words for those of his fanbase who feel like his incarceration is a “scary time.”

“And I’m so proud of how y’all been moving in my support,” he said. “Man, I know this feels like a scary time, but don’t be afraid, man. This s**t don’t spark no fear in my heart at all.”

Lanez continued by saying that he is “more prepared than ever.”

“In fact, I’m more prepared than ever — the music, the videos, and all the projects you wanted, they all ready to drop…”

Before concluding his message, Lanez announced the upcoming release of his project, ‘Alone At Prom (Deluxe).’ Additionally, Lanez shared a short caption along with his audio message.

“Message To The Umbrellas ☔️🤎

Here’s What We Know About Tory Lanez’s 10-Year Sentence In State Prison

As The Shade Room previously reported, Tory Lanez was transferred to North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, on September 19. The facility reportedly doubles as a “reception center” and “medium to minimum custody facility.”

PrisonPro reports that North Kern State Prison is responsible for “diagnosing and classifying” incoming inmates by examining their “mental and physical health.” The process can reportedly take up to 90 days, and then inmates can be moved to a “more permanent” facility. Once moved, the new facility can “better” suit an inmate’s “rehabilitation needs.”

According to reports from The Messenger and legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, Lanez is expected to be detained at North Kern State Prison for three to six months. Then, he will reportedly be transferred to a more “long-term” facility to serve the rest of his sentence.

Cuniff adds that although Lanez had received a 10-year sentence from Judge David Herriford, he has presumably been credited with over 353 days served, shortening his time in prison.

According to a recent report from TMZ, Lanez hopes to make the most of his time in prison and would like to be housed with the general population. Additionally, the outlet reports that the rapper would like “access to more programs and resources.”

Furthermore, the outlet reports that Lanez is not concerned for his safety. Meanwhile, the rapper’s legal team will continue to work on his behalf to have his sentencing appealed.

As The Shade Room previously reported, the rapper’s notice of appeal was filed on August 10. However, the proceedings concerning Lanez’s appeal may not begin until 2024.

Judge David Herriford has remained confident in his sentencing of Tory, as the rapper maintains his innocence regarding his conviction.
