Ariana Grande Shared How It Feels To Be "Paid Such Close Attention To"

Grande began the TikTok by explaining that she’s usually reluctant to explain, or defend, herself to the world. However, she “wanted” to address people’s concerns about her body.

“I don’t do this often. I don’t like it. I’m not good at it. But I just wanted to address your concerns about my body, and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to.”

The 29-year-old went on to explain that everyone should be “gentler” and “less comfortable” commenting on other people’s bodies.

“I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies. No matter what. If you think you’re saying something good, or well intentioned… whatever it is. Healthy, unhealthy, big, small… we just shouldn’t.”

Furthermore, Grande explained that “there are ways to compliment someone or ways to ignore something that you see that you don’t like.”

Overall, the singer feels that being more mindful of how we speak to, and describe one another, will keep everyone “safer.”

The Singer Added That "There Are Many Different Kinds Of Beautiful"

The 29-year-old went on to explain that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and forms.

“There’s many different ways to look healthy and beautiful.”

The singer even explained that at her current state, she’s the healthiest she’s ever been.

“And personally, for me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of anti-depressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that, in fact, wasn’t my healthy.”

Grande explained that she hopes having “openness” and “vulnerability” will bring “something good.”

She further reiterated.

“Healthy can look different.”

Ariana Grande Would Like People To Be "Gentle With Each Other"

The 29-year-old went on to explain that “you never know what someone is going through.”

“Even if you’re coming from a loving place or a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they’re working on it with. You never know, so be gentle with each other and yourselves.”

Before ending the video, Grande explained to viewers that they’re “beautiful” no matter what.

“Sending you guys a lot of love, and I think you’re beautiful no matter what you’re going through, no matter what weight, no matter how you like to do your makeup these days, no matter what cosmetic procedures you’ve had — or not — or anything. I just think you’re beautiful and wanted to share some feelings…”
