<p><strong>Coi Leray</strong> is not feeling the way <strong>Latto</strong> name-dropped her in a <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/listicle/from-ice-spice-ft-nicki-minaj-to-sza-ft-doja-cat-here-are-5-new-collabs-to-get-your-playlist-poppin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new single</a> titled <em>Put It On Da Floor</em>. Released on April 21, Latto raps, <em>&#8220;smoking on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray.&#8221; </em>Shortly after its release, Coi accused the Clay Co. rapper of <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/coi-leray-takes-to-social-media-to-clap-back-at-people-criticizing-her-body-is-there-a-certain-way-im-supposed-to-look/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">body-shaming her</a> and wanting to have &#8220;rap beef.&#8221;</p>

<p>Minutes before the direct call out, Coi also tweeted, &#8220;Let&#8217;s fight,&#8221; but it&#8217;s unclear if that was directed at Latto.</p>

<p>Latto name-drops Coi in the first line of the second verse, about halfway through the three-minute song.</p>

<p>While it seems like Leray interpreted <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/jadakiss-says-record-labels-should-be-blamed-for-violent-rap-lyrics-they-gamblin-on-you-to-do-something-dumb/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the lyrics</a> as clowning her more petite figure, Latto has yet to respond to Coi&#8217;s feelings about the mention.</p>
<p>Instead, hours after Leray&#8217;s tweets, the <em>Big Energy </em>rapper posted a screenshot of her name and <em>Put It On Da Floor </em>trending on Twitter.</p>

<p>We&#8217;ll get into online reactions later, but some listeners agree that the name-dropping was Latto&#8217;s attempt at giving Leray flowers. Rather than smoking a &#8216;small&#8217; or &#8216;skinny&#8217; blunt as Coi presumes, fans think Latto meant she&#8217;s smoking a blunt &#8220;as big&#8221; as Coi&#8217;s impact.</p>
<p>Daughter to rapper-turned-reality TV star Benzino, Leray blew up <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/president-biden-says-the-pandemic-is-over-but-there-is-still-a-problem-with-covid-19/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amid the pandemic</a> when she released <em>No More Parties. </em>The rap bop highlights her struggles with depression and the pressures of fame. The record went platinum within a few months following the remix with Lil Durk.</p>
<p>Since then, she&#8217;s received nominations in the 2021 BET and American Music Awards and the 2022 iHeart Radio Music Awards. Her subsequent music, including <em>Twinnem </em>and <em>Fly Sh*t, </em>has often propelled viral TikTok content. Leray was <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/coi-leray-claps-back-after-trending-on-social-media-following-her-xxl-freshman-freestyle/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also featured</a> in the <em>XXL </em>2021 Freshman Class.</p>
<p>Still, conversations about the <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/pressa-speaks-on-what-initially-attracted-him-to-coi-leray-their-relationship-in-new-interview-i-thought-she-looked-like-methe-relationship-is-awesome-we-dont-cla/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rapper&#8217;s subtle curves</a> have plagued much of her rise to fame. On April 10, she announced she&#8217;s addressing the years-long body-shaming in a forthcoming track.</p>
