Quavo Prepares To Deliver Solo Album Dedicated To Takeoff: ‘All My Emotions In This’

According to the outlet, Quavo shared that ‘Rocket Power’ will be released “this summer.”

The project is dedicated to his late nephew and Migos groupmate Takeoff. The late rapper was also referred to as “The Rocket” by his fans.

Although Quavo did not specify the project’s release date, he explained his motivation behind its creation.

“I’m fueled by the rocket.”

On Monday, April 10, Quavo took to Twitter to share another brief update about the project. Additionally, the 32-year-old revealed that he will not be doing interviews until after the album’s completion.

The rapper has released multiple solo singles since Takeoff’s death in November 2022.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Quavo delivered the single “Without You,” which he performed at the 2023 Grammys and dedicated to the late rapper.

In February, he delivered a second single titled “Greatness.” On the track, Quavo confirmed the end of the Migos, the hip-hop group which consisted of himself, Takeoff, and rapper Offset, as reported by The Shade Room.

“So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n***a it can’t come back, damn!”

On Friday, March 31, Quavo released his latest single, “Honey Bun.” He rapped about not wanting to hear more condolences for Takeoff’s death and shared that he isn’t “smiling at all.”

“I don’t wanna hear no sorry for my loss… How can I comе outside, without no mask on? / They wanna see my emotions, I ain’t smilin’ at all.”

According to Insider, the rapper also revealed the meaning behind the mask he’s seen wearing in the single’s music video.

“It represents the loss of my other half. Whenever I perform I want to show that he’s always with me.”

Whether all or any of the singles will appear on Quavo’s upcoming sophomore album remains to be seen.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Takeoff was killed on November 1, 2022, during a dice game gone wrong.

The rapper, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, was 28 years old. His cause of death was due to gunshot wounds to his head and torso, as per The Shade Room.

According to Insider, Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was shared with the rapper’s murder in December. However, Clark posted a $1 million bail and has been under house arrest.

Previously, Quavo and Takeoff joined forces to deliver their joint album, ‘Only Built For Infinity Links.’

Before that, the rappers made history alongside their fellow family member, Offset, as the hip-hop group, Migos. According to Atlanta News First, Migos is the “most certified rap group in history.”
