Lizzo practically broke the Internet earlier today when a viral video and accompanying photos of her at a recent Lakers game began circulating on social media. No, it had nothing to do with her music—but instead it was about what she wore…or in this case, what she didn’t.
Lizzo is easily having one of the best 2019’s of anyone. She’s topped the Billboard charts, won multiple awards and just recently became the most nominated artist at the upcoming Grammy Awards, so it’s safe to say she deserves to celebrate.
Unfortunately, many were not exactly happy with the way she chose to show up to a Lakers game. Lizzo wore a long black T-shirt with the back cut out, which revealed she was wearing only a black thong underneath exposing her bare butt. When she was shouted out while sitting courtside at the game, she got up and gave fans a mini twerk session.
Social media lit up immediately with many stating that not only was Lizzo’s outfit inappropriate, but that she should have considered how many children were in attendance. A debate also emerged about whether her critics would be as offended with her attire if she were smaller.
If you are a fan of Lizzo, you already know that she is 100% confident in her body and doesn’t care at all what others think about her appearance and body positivity. However, even some of her fans were questioning if a family-friendly basketball game was the place to display her assets.
