<p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">While some people spent the Fourth of July celebrating so-called &#8220;freedom,&#8221; others called out Macy Gray &; actress Bette Midler. Both women have become labeled as &#8220;Terfs&#8221; following recent comments about Trans women. A Terf is described as a feminist who excludes the rights of transgender women from their advocacy of women&#8217;s rights.</p>
<p>The conversation started following a recent interview with Piers Morgan. Macy said, &#8220;I will say this, and everyone&#8217;s gonna hate me, but as a woman, just because you change your (body) parts doesn&#8217;t make you a woman, sorry.&#8221; Piers asked, &#8220;Right, you feel that?&#8221; Macy doubled down, saying, &#8220;I know that for a fact.&#8221;</p>
<p>Possibly feeling that backlash was on the horizon, the singer also told Piers that she doesn&#8217;t think anyone should be labeled transphobic just because they disagree. Macy wasn&#8217;t the only one who shared their opinions on women. Actress Bette Midler hopped on Twitter and shared her two cents in a tweet.</p>

<p>She wrote, &#8220;WOMEN OF THE WORLD! We are being stripped of our rights over our bodies, our lives, and even of our name! They don&#8217;t call us &#8216;women&#8217; anymore; they call us &#8216;birthing people&#8217; or &#8216;menstruators, and even people with vaginas&#8217;! Don&#8217;t let them erase you! Every human on earth owes you!&#8221;</p>

<p>Over 10,000 Roommates commented, and most felt Macy wasn&#8217;t wrong. However, the folks on Twitter dragged her. One tweeted, &#8220;Everything going on in the world right now, and Macy Gray decides to use her platform to instead call out people who are already oppressed and attempt to invalidate them.&#8221;</p>
<p>Another tweeted, &#8220;Macy Gray is so desperate for a coin she&#8217;s appearing on Piers Morgan and singing weddings on &#8216;Real Housewives&#8217; episodes. No wonder she&#8217;s mad! Terf a*s.&#8221;</p>
