Malik Yoba, took to the ‘gram today to use his platform to speak his truth—speaking against transphobia, including his personal attraction to both cisgender and transgender women.
Malik posted a video of Maurice Willoughby, a 20-year-old man who killed himself because people were bullying him for dating a trans woman.
“I love ALL women AND count MYSELF among those that find themselves trans attracted and I too have felt the self imposed shame that comes with that truth but it’s time to speak up,” he captioned the video.
“ATTENTION BLACK AND ALL MEN!!! THIS IS NOT OK!!!!! This video is another heartbreaking example of the homophobia, transphobia hatred and hypocrisy WE as black folks, BLACK MEN in particular have to NAME , FACE and CALL OUT and do the work to heal!!!” He said.

Unfortunately there are people who bring others like Maurice down for living their truth, however, we hope to see less of these situations happen as people like Malik Yoba use their platforms to speak out against transphobia.
