In #MariahCarey’s stunning spread for #Complex, she opened up about a range of topics from regretting not have worked with Tupac to our dearly departed Prince and even her marriage to Nick Cannon (and their divorce). “I never thought I would have babies with someone and then get divorced. Like, ‘Oh, great job. Repeat your past’,” she said.
As for Mariah’s unexpected split from Nick, she’s cool with the way fate had things go…sort of. “…life happens and it was supposed to happen. It’s fine,” the icon said. “For [#dembabies, Moroccan and Monroe], I wish it hadn’t happened that way.”
Luckily, the twins have taken a liking to Carey’s new boo, James Packer. The singer says she wasn’t even looking for love when they met, but things are moving along after he proposed with a 36-carat diamond ring last year.
Now, if you’re wondering when Mimi and James are tying the knot, well, it’ll be sooner rather than later. She calls their impending marriage a “merger” so, a pre-nup is currently being negotiated. “We would like for it not to be a big thing, but the reality is it has to be because there’s things that are specifically mine, and he’s got huge friggin’ conglomerate stuff and I’m not looking to take that from him. So it has to be dealt with.”
