<p><strong>Marvin Gaye III</strong> &#8211; son of the late Motown icon <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/?s=marvin+gaye&;post_type=post" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Marvin Gaye</strong></a> &#8211; is no longer able to see or contact his wife after she sought a court-ordered restraining order against him after he allegedly pointed a gun at her.</p>
<p>On Tuesday, Marvin&#8217;s wife, Wendy Gaye, rushed to the courthouse to file for a domestic violence restraining order against her husband, online records show.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Son Of Legendary Motown Icon Restricted From Seeing, Contacting Wife After Domestic Violence Arrest</h3>
<p><a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/13/marvin-gaye-son-assault-motown-under-investigation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>TMZ</strong></a> reports that the order of protection comes just days after his arrest after he reportedly assaulted his wife and cousin during an argument at his Calabasas home last Thursday (Jan. 13).</p>

The exact nature of the incident remains unclear, however TMZ reports that it may have been regarding a previous domestic assault.</section>

<p>Authorities had arrived and surrounded Gaye&#8217;s home before calling him to exit the residence, however he had already left in his Corvette prior to their arrival.</p>
<p>He eventually turned himself in to the local sheriff&#8217;s office and was booked on two charges, one for misdemeanor domestic violence and the other felony assault with a deadly weapon.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Gaye III Posts Bail After Domestic Arrest That Saw Him Accused Of Pointing A Gun At His Wife, Cousin</h3>

It&#8217;s unclear if anyone was injured as of Thursday.</section>
<p>As a singer and songwriter, Marvin Gaye was a father of three children &#8211; Nona Gaye, Frankie Gaye, and Marvin Gaye III. While two of them are his biological kids, there has been debate over whether Gaye III was adopted or not.</p>
<p>Gaye III is probably best known for winning a $5.3 million lawsuit against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams for copyright infringement regarding their 2013 hit &#8220;Blurred Lines.&#8221;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Judge Sides With Gaye Family In 2013 Song Lawsuit, While Gun Violence Permeates Legendary Motown Family</h3>
<p>Gaye and his family claimed the two used samplings from their father&#8217;s 1977 song &#8220;Got to Give It Up,&#8221; without asking for permission beforehand.</p>
<p>The judge presiding over that case ultimately sided with the Gaye family, and ordered Thicke and Williams to pay a $7.4 million judgement, however the amount was eventually reduced by about two million dollars.</p>
<p>Gun violence has unfortunately permeated much of the Gaye family legacy over the years.</p>
<p>Gaye III&#8217;s father was shot to death by his own dad, Marvin Gaye I, on April 1, 1984. Gaye was killed one day short of his 45th birthday.</p>
