Roommates, during a recent interview to promote her new album ‘Good Morning Gorgeous,’Mary J. Bligewas asked about her to decision not to have children and as always, she kept it real. In the brief clip, Mary J. Blige said that she likes her freedom and the ability to move how she wants to move without having to tend to someone all the time.
Following her amazing Super Bowl halftime show performance and continuing to promote her latest album, Mary J. Blige is making the press roundsand she recently spoke with E!s Daily Pop to discuss whats next for her, specifically as it relates to not having children.
When host Justin Sylvester asked her if she regretted not being a mother, Mary had this to say:
I have nieces and nephews forever and Im always watching how people are scrambling for baby-sitters. I dont want to go through that. I like my freedom to go and move and do what I want to do. I dont want to have to tend to someone all the time.
She continued, adding Right now thats where Im at. But, I dont think its [having kids] gonna happen. Mary was previously a step-mother when she was married to her ex-husband Kendu Issacs, who has multiple children from previous relationships.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Mary J. Blige announced the creation of her first-ever Strength Of A Woman Festival And Summit, which will be a three-day event held in Atlanta during Mothers Day weekend, May 6th through May 8th.
