Earlier this week Mathew Knowles took to social media to reveal that he was working on a Destinys Child musical. He said to his followers on social media, Je’Caryous Johnson and Iare collaborating on Survivor: The Destinys Child Musical with plans for Broadway, Londons West End, and a world tour! Now more details about the musical have become available.
In an exclusive interview with Fox 26 Houston, he talked about whether he received the blessing from the members to do the musical, and also the different time periods the musical will explore throughout the group’s successful career.
He said, We wanted to ensure that we got their blessing, and they can have as much input as they would like.” The musical will be told from Mathews perspective and will also cover how the groups success affected Mathews marriage to Tina Lawson, and also on Solange Knowles.
Although the musical is being developed for Broadway and Londons West End, the show is expected to first premiere in Houston, TX next year.
Mathew also said that hinted that some former members may appear in the show.
According to the news outlet, Mathew is also planning to release a book entitled “Destiny’s Child, The Untold Story” before the end of the year, and also a new album of unreleased music from the girls when they were 10 and 11-years-old.
