<p>It looks like New York City will be open just in time for the summer. On Thursday, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that there are plans to have the city fully reopened by July 1st.</p>
<p>De Blasio discussed the city&#8217;s reopening and said, &#8220;What we’re seeing is that people have gotten vaccinated at extraordinary numbers. This is going to be the summer of New York City. I think people are going to flock to New York City because they want to live again.&#8221;</p>
<p>Of the businesses expected to reopen, people can expect to enjoy going to restaurants, bars, gyms, hair salons, barbershops, arenas, and stadiums, theaters, museums, and more. According to <em><a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/29/new-york-city-mayor-bill-de-blasio-says-the-city-will-re-open-100percent-on-july-1.html">CNBC</a></em>, as of Wednesday, more than 6 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been distributed, and more than half of the city&#8217;s adult population has received at least their first dose.</p>

<p>This will be the first time that the city has been fully opened since being shut down due to the pandemic. It hasn&#8217;t been made clear if a mask mandate will stay in place with the plans of the city reopening this summer.</p>
<p>Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Wednesday that the dining curfews will be lifted statewide, and seating at bars can begin on May 3rd and outdoor dining curfews of 12 a.m. could end by May 17th, and indoor dining curfews will expire May 3st.</p>
<p>Last month, the <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/texas-governor-greg-abbott-lifts-mask-mandate-says-businesses-can-open-to-100-capacity/">Texas</a></em> governor announced the lift of the mask mandate the reopening of the state to 100% capacity.</p>
