<p>Since releasing his most recent album <em>Expensive Pain</em> in 2021, fans have anxiously awaited for <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/meek-mill-blasts-bet-for-embarrassing-his-non-rapping-sons-mother-to-promote-their-hip-hop-awards-show/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Meek Mill</a> to return to the mic. The MC delighted fans on Monday evening with the release of his latest mixtape effort, <em>Flamerz 5. </em>His fifth installment in the mixtape series, featuring beats from recent hits like GloRilla and Cardi B&#8217;s &#8220;Tomorrow 2,&#8221; DJ Khaled&#8217;s &#8220;God Did,&#8221; Ice Spice&#8217;s &#8220;Munch (Feeling&#8217; U)&#8221; and more.</p>

<p>Ahead of the mixtape&#8217;s release, an fan tweeted the rapper, asking when exactly the project would be available for listening. The Philly-bred rapper replied, &#8220;#askmeek 5PM.&#8221; And opened the door for fans to send follow-up tweets with their very own questions.</p>

<p>Aside from revealing that he&#8217;s currently <a href="https://twitter.com/MeekMill/status/1594722666858123273" target="_blank" rel="noopener">single</a>, the 35-year-old rapper also shared that the payouts from his <a href="https://genius.com/albums/Meek-mill/Expensive-pain" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Expensive Pain</em></a> album sales haven&#8217;t been quite what he&#8217;s expected.</p>

<p>The &#8220;<a href="https://genius.com/Meek-mill-dreams-and-nightmares-intro-lyrics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dreams and Nightmares</a>&#8221; rapper added that he&#8217;s only &#8220;made 11 million dollars in 10 years from music.&#8221; This realization caused him to become &#8220;shocked mad,&#8221; turning his interest away from being apart of any major music label.</p>

<p>The rapper revealed that many trusted sources let him down when he &#8220;got educated&#8221; about his business, adding that &#8220;they mentally keep you faded from knowing.&#8221; So much so, that he recalled learning about the sales from his Drake-assisted single, &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H7l0HjAxd4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Going Bad</a>,&#8221; and &#8220;losing all trust&#8221; for the streaming industry.</p>
<p>Meek shared that although the song brought in $24 million dollars in sales, he was left unclear on how much money he received from the total revenue. Meek also added that he asked <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/vogue-sues-drake-21-savage-over-phony-covers-used-to-promote-joint-album/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Drake</a> to hop on the song three days before his <em>Championships</em> album was released, thinking the rapper did the feature for free. However, he never inquired to learn more about &#8220;how much [he] made off a song that made that much&#8221; because he was given a plaque.</p>
