What do you call a black FLOTUS at the ‘Black Girls Rock’ celebration? Well according to the GOP and ignorant people, racist.
BET hosted its annual ‘Black Girls Rock’ celebration Saturday where Michelle Obama was a special guest and not long after criticized.
‘Black Girls Rock’ is a celebration of black girlhood. Contrary to those commentator’s beliefs, it is not a ‘racist’ gathering where white girlhood or the white race is reduced or spoken down upon; and Michelle Obama’s appearance wasn’t to denounce her representation of the female community.
Twitter went UP during and after the show. The comments included things like, “Michelle Obama declares ‘Black Girls Rock!’ what if a white First Lady had said the same about her race?!, ” and “Racist Michelle Obama shouts, ‘black girls rock!’ She doesn’t care about everybody else?”
Someone define racist and then let’s reevaluate Michelle’s appearance.
