Divorce matters for Mike Epps and his estranged wife Mechelle Epps seem to be hitting the fan as Mechelle is claiming that Mike cut her off financially in order to make her settle.
She reportedly was offered a lowball settlement agreement and was not having it.
So let’s talk numbers: Mike feels as though she should only be receiving $26.5k per month in temporary spousal and child support, but Mechelle is feeling like he needs to be dishing out $118.5k!
“Mike is attempting to force me to settle by cutting off my support,” Mechelle said in a declaration. He has been paying our bills like always, until recently. Now he is cutting off my access to bank accounts and credit cards in an attempt to coerce me to settle.”
Mike tells a different story.
Apparently, he owes at least $2.6 million to the IRS and says he needs to prioritize that before he cashes out with Mechelle. According to Bossip, Mike may have to start selling property just to stay afloat with his child support and alimony payments.
“If granted, Mechelle’s requests for support and fees would be financially ruinous for this family, and therefore must be denied,” Mike’s lawyers wrote in court docs.
So what does Mechelle need $118.5k a month to do exactly?
According to court documents, she needs to maintain their lavish LA mansion and support her and Mike’s two daughters. Mike allegedly convinced her to be a stay at home mom as opposed to work–so most of their relationship she has been unemployed.
Here’s a breakdown of what she claims to spend per month:
Mansion: $30k
Nanny: $3.5k
Private school tuition: $72k/year
Clothes/shoes: $5k-$10k
The couple has been married since 2005. A judge has yet to rule on the matter.
