Monica took to Al Gore’s innanet and asked why people refer to her as ‘Goonica,’ and social media specifically laid out why.
In an Instagram post, the songstress wrote, “I have absolutely no idea why y’all call me Goonica! Anyone care to explain [laughing emoji]? Why don’t you all tell me below! Just a little morning #MoTalk.”
From lyrics to the comment section, the world wide web had receipts on why she’s Goonica.
If you recall, a lyric in her ‘So Gone’ track lets it be known that she’ll “kick down ya door and smack yo chick,” as a Twitter user pointed out.
On Sunday, the singer commented on the Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight ‘Verzuz Battle,’ and wrote, “Do I need to pull up? That’s the last time my auntie asking for her lyrics and that’s on that,” she wrote in response to Patti having an issue with her teleprompter showing her lyrics.
On an episode of T.I. & Tiny’s Family & Friend’s Hustle, Reginae was alluding to Toya and Monica being a little on the lame side. In response, Monica replied, “Hold on lil’ mama, you ain’t hit a block I ain’t been first.”
Finally, Monica stepped into The Shade Room and stated she just wanted to be clear.
