<p>After offering an apology over recent comments on children, parenting, and gender identity, <strong>Ne-Yo</strong> is letting it be known that, in the words of <strong>NeNe Leakes</strong>, he said what he said!</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Ne-Yo Doubles Down &; Says He&#8217;s Entitled To His Opinion: &#8220;I Will Never Be Okay With That&#8221;</h3>
<p>On Monday (Aug. 7), Ne-Yo made an <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cvp0SjDgdyo/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&;igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram post</a> to make his stance loud and clear.</p>
<p>Within the video, he clarified that — while he indeed posted an apology — he was <em>not </em>sorry for sharing his thoughts on the matter.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I did not apologize for having an opinion on this matter. I am a 43-year-old heterosexual man raising five boys and two girls. That&#8217;s my reality. Now, if my opinion offended somebody, yeah, sure — I apologize for you being offended because that wasn&#8217;t my intention. It&#8217;s never my intention to offend anybody. However, I&#8217;m entitled to feel how I feel.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>He noted that he merely answered a question during an interview and didn&#8217;t ask anyone to agree with him before stating, &#8220;I have no beef with the LGBTQIA+ community whatsoever.&#8221; Nonetheless, he doubled down on &#8220;never be[ing] okay&#8221; with children dictating their gender identities.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I will never be okay with allowing a child to make a decision that will be that detrimental to their life. I will never be okay with that.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>We should add that he said he was open to further educating himself on the matter. However, Ne-Yo didn&#8217;t see how any particular piece of information could sway his opinion on the subject.</p>
<p>Towards the end of his video, he declared, <strong><em>&#8220;If I get canceled for this, then you know what, maybe this is a world where they don&#8217;t need a Ne-Yo no more. And I don&#8217;t got no problem with that.&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<p>Within his lengthy caption, the &#8220;So Sick&#8221; singer declared, <strong><em>&#8220;I WILL NOT BE BULLIED INTO APOLOGIZING FOR HAVING AN OPINION.&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<p>He also clarified that his &#8220;intention is never to offend anybody.&#8221; Furthermore, he acknowledged that he would accept any of his children if they &#8220;wanted to be something other than what they were born as,&#8221; though he&#8217;d have them wait until &#8220;they&#8217;re old enough and mature enough to make that decision.&#8221;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">The Singer Previously Apologized While Calling Himself An &#8220;Advocate For Love &; Inclusivity&#8221;</h3>
<p>This update comes less than a day after Ne-Yo shared his &#8220;deepest apologies to anyone that [he] may have hurt&#8221; with his commentary.</p>
<p>Within his message, Ne-Yo said he&#8217;s &#8220;always been an advocate for love and inclusivity&#8221; who &#8220;support[s] everyone&#8217;s freedom of expression.&#8221;</p>

<p>This apology was made in response to backlash over comments he made during an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYtXYCVXuxc&;t=256s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">VladTV</a>. Specifically, he pushed back against the parents allowing their young children to &#8220;decide&#8221; their gender identity.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;When did it become a good idea to let a five-year-old — let a six-year-old — let a 12-year-old make a life-changing decision for themselves? When did that happen? I don’t understand that. &#8230; He can&#8217;t drive a car yet, but he can decide his sex?&#8221;</p></blockquote>
