<p>On Friday, the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, sat down for a video to apologize and acknowledge the league’s wrongdoing when it came to not supporting its players as they peacefully protested against racial injustice.</p>
<p>In the video, Goodell says, “We, the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people. We, the National Football League, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all players to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the National Football League, believe that black lives matter.”</p>

<p>His response comes after several players participated in the “Stronger Together,&#8221; video where they asked the league to take a stance and own up to their mistakes and show their support as they continue to protest against police brutality and the racial injustice inside of the black communities.</p>

<p>Notably many people were also looking for Goodell to acknowledge and apologize to Colin Kaepernick specifically. Back in 2016, he peacefully protested by kneeling during the National Anthem. As many of you know, his peaceful protest cost him his job in the NFL. However, he has <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/twitter-ceo-jack-dorsey-donates-3m-to-colin-kaepernicks-know-your-rights-camp/">continued</a></em> his fight regardless of the NFL’s actions.</p>
<p>Colin’s girlfriend, Nessa Diab called out Goodell for still having Colin blackballed when all he did was peacefully protest against the very thing that is heavily impacting the black community, police brutality, and racial injustice.</p>

<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/05/sport/roger-goodell-responds-nfl-stronger-together-video">CNN</a></em>, Goodell said he would be reaching out to players, and those who have been speaking out about the issues to see “how we can improve and go forward for a better and more united NFL family.”</p>
