<p>A three-year-old child has passed away after reportedly drowning in a family-owned pool. According to <em>BBC, </em>a <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-63435199" target="_blank" rel="noopener">police spokesperson confirmed</a> the toddler is <strong>David </strong><strong>Ifeanyi Adeleke</strong>, the son of African superstar <strong>Davido</strong> and his fiancée <strong>Chioma Rowland</strong>.</p>
<p>Ifeanyi&#8217;s passing comes less than two weeks after the toddler welcomed his third birthday on October 20. At the time, <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/nigerian-orphanages-will-receive-more-than-600000-that-davido-raised-from-viral-birthday-request/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Davido dedicated</a> a sweet caption to his son&#8217;s milestone on his Instagram page.</p>

<p>Neither parent has publicly spoken on the passing as of November 1. However, multiple reports confirmed the drowning occurred on Monday (October 31.) <em>The Daily Mail </em>and <em>Daily Post Nigeria </em><a href="https://dailypost.ng/2022/11/01/police-picks-all-davidos-domestic-staff-over-sons-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claim the parents</a> were away when Ifeanyi drowned at their Lagos residence.</p>

<p><em>Daily Mail </em>reports that Ifeanyi was <strong><em>&#8220;underwater for a very long time before being rushed to a hospital.&#8221;</em></strong> The outlet also claimed the toddler was <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11376929/Nigerian-music-star-Davidos-son-dead-drowned-swimming-pool.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pronounced dead</a> on arrival at the hospital.</p>
<p>Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin told <em>BBC </em>that a domestic staff member at the residence called authorities at 10 p.m. local time. Hundeyin also confirmed that eight staff members <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/idris-elbas-daughter-kept-him-on-ice-for-three-weeks-after-not-landing-role-in-his-new-film-beast/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were invited</a> to the station for questioning.</p>
<p>In addition, Hundeyin revealed police are reviewing the CCTV cameras to get additional details about the circumstances surrounding his death.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;If after they all give their own account of what happened and after preliminary investigations, if anyone of them is found cuplable, the person will now be placed under arrest,&#8221; Hundeyin said.</p></blockquote>
<p>Hundeyin also told <em>BBC </em>that the toddler&#8217;s body had already been deposited at the morgue. Police have also been in contact with Davido and Chioma as of last night.</p>
