Bali's nightclub scene is starting to feel the effects of a crackdown on drugs by Indonesian Police. Twenty-four-year-old Sydney model Michelle Leslie is the latest in a string of foreigners to be caught in an anti-drugs crackdown. Leslie was allegedly caught with two Ecstasy tablets in her handbag after police raided a large dance party at the GWK Cultural Park early Saturday, August 20. Under Indonesian Law Leslie could face up to 15 years in jail if found guilty for drug possession. Indonesia has strict anti-drug policies with a maximum penalty of the death sentence. Already facing a possible death penalty are the Bali nine, the eight Australian men and one woman accused of trying to smuggle more than 8kgs of heroin from Bali to Australia in April. <p>Social media has been buzzing with circulating clips of a homegoing celebration for DMV rapper Goonew. The artist, whose real name is Markelle Antonio Morrow, was <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/man-accused-of-fatally-shooting-lakevia-jackson-over-bowling-ball-dispute-arrested/">shot and killed</a> in Prince George’s County in Maryland on March 18, per <em>Pitchfork</em>. A celebration of his life took place on Sunday at a popular D.C. nightclub called Bliss.</p>
<h6><strong>Details On Goonew&#8217;s Homegoing </strong></h6>
<p>An alleged flyer described the event as: &#8220;Goonew &#8216;The Final Show.&#8221; Event organizers listed the event time between 4pm and 8pm local time. The flyer also says attendees &#8220;must have tickets,&#8221; but had the option of purchasing &#8220;tickets at the door.&#8221; A source who attended the event confirmed to <em>The Shade Room</em> that there was a $40 cover fee to enter the venue.</p>
<p>Hours after the celebration, folks flooded the social channels with commentary of <a href="https://pitchfork.com/news/goonew-maryland-rapper-shot-dead-at-24/">Goonew&#8217;s presence</a> at the homegoing. Event organizers seemingly propped up Goonew&#8217;s embalmed body on the club stage. The body wore designer clothing, including an Amiri sweatshirt. Goonew&#8217;s alleged corpse also wore jeans, sneakers and a crown on his head.</p>
<p>Public reaction to Goonew&#8217;s presence involved mixed reactions. Some folks condemned the celebration organizers and the venue, while others blasted critics and encouraged people to mind their business. (<em>See some reactions below.)</em></p>

<p>Now, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb70hqzOBa-/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link">management for Bliss</a> have taken to Instagram to clear the air. In a statement posted to their page, the club offered condolences to the family and clarified their knowledge of what took place on Sunday.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our deepest condolences to Goonew&#8217;s family, friends and fans. Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent out our venue for Goonew&#8217;s home-going celebration. Bliss was never made aware of what would transpire. We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended. Please keep Goonew&#8217;s family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time.&#8221;</p>
