On Thursday the nominations for the 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame were announced.
Two major names that are among the nominees for the 2018 class include Nina Simone and LL Cool J.
This is Nina Simone’s first ever Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination and this is LL Cool J’s fourth nomination.
Artists become eligible to be inducted when it has reached at least 25 years after the release of their first record. Nina Simone became eligible to be nominated back in 1983. Her first album released in 1958, making her nomination long overdue.
LL Cool J, on the other hand, has been nominated for the fourth time. He was first eligible to be nominated 2009, with his debut album releasing in 1985.
Other nominees for the 2018 class include Bon Jovi, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Radiohead and many others.
