<p>Roommates, today is the very last day to register to vote online in the state of Virginia, but things have taken an abrupt halt, according to <a href="https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/virginia/virginia-voter-registration-site-down-on-last-day-to-register-to-vote-officials-say/65-3e5b390b-3e47-4a22-a440-6afddf770f3a">WUSA 9</a>. The local outlet is reporting that online voting registration has been shut down, after an &#8220;accidentally&#8221; cut cable has caused a network outage.</p>
<p>The Virginia Information Technology agency confirmed that a fiber cut in a wire was the cause of the outage in a tweet.</p>
<p>&#8220;This morning we were alerted by VITA that a fiber cut near the Commonwealth Enterprise Solutions Center was impacting data circuits and VPN connectivity for multiple agencies. This has affected the citizen total along w/ registrar&#8217;s offices.&#8221;</p>

<p>The Department Of Elections has since revealed that technicians are on site and working to repair the wire, but access to the system has not yet been restored.</p>
<p>&#8220;Due to a network outage, the Citizen Portal is temporarily unavailable. We are working with our network providers to restore service as quickly as possible,&#8221; the Virginia Department of Elections posted on its website.</p>
<p>WUSA9 reports that voter who has already received a Mal-in ballot need to have them postmarked by Nov. 3. All signatures must be correct, or you ballot may be thrown out.</p>
