<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">#Roommates, celebrity documentaries are a regular occurrence for some of the biggest names in the world of entertainment, and <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/one-of-the-breonna-taylor-billboards-purchased-by-oprah-was-vandalized-with-red-paint-in-louisville/">Oprah Winfrey</a> is joining the club. It has just been confirmed that a documentary on the life of Oprah Winfrey is currently in the works at Apple TV+.</p>
<p>@Deadline reports, Oprah Winfrey has interviewed and chronicled the lives of hundreds of celebrities during her <a class="ProsemirrorEditor-link" href="https://deadline.com/2021/01/apple-tv-oprah-winfrey-biographical-doc-whitney-team-kevin-macdonald-lisa-erspamer-1234673778/">lengthy career</a>, but now it’s her turn to be the subject. A two-part documentary focusing on her life from the beginning of her journalism career, to her becoming a Black female billionaire, was recently ordered from streaming service Apple TV+.</p>
<p>The currently untitled documentary will journey 25 years of American history through the lens of Oprah Winfrey’s groundbreaking talk show, and how she rose from humble beginnings to become a globally famous talk show host, producer, actress and philanthropist. Academy Award-winner Kevin MacDonald will direct.</p>
<p>The project joins a growing list of unscripted shows Apple is working on with Oprah’s Harpo productions—after the two companies inked a multi-year deal back in 2018. They include “<em>The Oprah Conversation,” “Oprah’s Book Club” </em>and<em> &#8220;Oprah Talks COVID-19,</em>” which are all currently streaming.</p>
<p>MacDonald is re-teaming with Emmy-nominated producer Lisa Erspamer and her banner, Happy Street Entertainment, on the project. The pair previously made Whitney Houston&#8217;s biographical documentary “<em>Whitney.</em>” Oprah and Erspamer also have a long-standing relationship from when Erspamer produced “<em>The Oprah Winfrey Show”</em> for a decade between 1999 and 2009.</p>
<p>As the project is still in its early stages, no title or release date has been made available.</p>
