#PamGrier was one of the most sought after actresses of the blaxploitation era and gave us classic films such as #FoxyBrown, #Coffy and #JackieBrown which were directed by Quentin Tarantino. Grier recalls him telling her that she’s “badass” and that she shows others that “it’s okay to win” and “okay to fight”… which is why she’s finally gearing up to tell her story.
The actress is readying a biopic about her life which includes stories of experiencing sexual abuse and her love life. “The story is heartbreaking, raw, honest, and beautiful, all rolled into one testimony,” Grier told @Deadline of the upcoming film.
Grier has been in a few high profile relationships with NBA player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, comic Freddie Prinze and #RichardPryor. She dated I’m in the 70’s and has already cast SNL veteran #JayPharoah to play him. “I watched him and heard his voice and closed my eyes and said, ‘It’s Richard.'”
The film is tentatively called “Pam.” Will y’all be watching?
