#Roomies, during a press conference, a photo was taken that showed President Donald Trump‘s notes had the word Corona crossed out and replaced with Chinese. According to NBC News, it is allegedly the presidents handwriting.
This comes a day after he told reporters he refers to this pandemic as the Chinese Virus because thats where it comes from.
He stated,
“It’s not racist at all. It comes from China, that’s why.”
This was obviously met with scrutiny and many have spoken out, including John C. Yang, president and executive director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice.
He stated,
“I absolutely think that words used by him matter. Certainly use of this term by him and others even in the last couple of weeks have led to a noticeable incline in hate incidents that we are seeing. I do think that there is a correlation.”
Whew! Yall president is wildin out here in the midst of a viral pandemic that has infected over 9,000 people in the United States, and claimed the lives of 150 in the U.S., according to USA Today.
