Thank God for music! Music is one of the things that can live on after a person passes away. It’s been 1 year since Pop Smoke’s untimely passing, and while music can’t replace him physically being here, it’s helped many find comfort. The GRAMMY-nominated rapper will never be forgotten due to his impact on the music industry. In addition, Pop’s family, friends, and fans continue to keep his legacy alive. Even in Pop’s death, he continues to break records with his posthumous debut album ‘Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.’

As we previously reported in March, it was announced the album became the longest-running number-one R&B /Hip-Hop album on Billboard since 1990. The album dominated the charts for 17 weeks. An album hasn’t reached this type of charting success since M.C. Hammer’s 1990 album, “Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt Em,” which remained on the charts for 29 weeks in 1990.

Earlier this month, Steven Victor, Pop’s manager, confirmed that he has another posthumous album in the works on Twitter and fans went crazy. While no details were available at the time, today, Steven gave Pop fans what they’ve been waiting for and announced his second posthumous album is dropping on July 16th. Steven announced on Instagram by dropping a trailer of Pop speaking. In the clip, he says, “I always knew I was going to be something big.” Pop’s brother Obasi Jackson also shared the video on his Instagram story in excitement.

If you recall, last month, he penned a letter to his brother during the preliminary trial of his murder. Obasi wrote, “Bashar on God, we are getting to the bottom of it. I’m sorry the real wasn’t with you. I’m sorry you said ni***s would shoot back, and they didn’t. I’m sorry you thought ni***s would fight for you, and they’re not even doing that in death.”

Roomies, are ya’ll ready for the new Pop album?
