Roommates, we are sending our prayers out to Jussie Smollett. He was reportedly brutally attacked in Chicago and is now hospitalized.
According to TMZ, sources connected to Jussie revealed that he arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday. He went to a Subway around 2am because he was hungry. When he walked out someone reportedly yelled, “Aren’t you that f***ot Empire n****?”
There were reportedly two white men wearing ski masks that viciously attacked Jussie as he fought back. He reportedly suffered a fractured rib, and the attackers put a rope around his neck and poured bleach on him as they yelled, “This is MAGA country.”
Jussie was taken to Northwestern Memorial where he is receiving treatment. Law enforcement sources told the site that Chicago police are investigating the incident as battery, and the police say they are treating it as a hate crime.
