Last week, movie mogul #HarveyWeinstein was accused of a series of sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations. Some of the accusers are part of Hollywood’s elite actresses such as #GwynethPaltrow and #AnjelinaJolie.
President #BarackObama and his wife #MichelleObama are the latest to openly express their disgust for Weinstein’s alleged actions and understandably so, because their daughter #MaliaObama interned with his company back in January.
“Michelle and I have been disgusted by the recent reports about Harvey Weinstein. Any man who demeans and degrades women in such a fashion needs to be condemned and held accountable, regardless of wealth or status.”
He continued, “We should celebrate the courage of women who have come forward to tell these painful stories. And we all need to build a culture — including by empowering our girls and teaching our boys decency and respect — so we can make such behavior less prevalent in the future.”
Weinstein was a huge supporter of Obama and raised millions of dollars for Democrats while he was still in office.
