<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">According to @pagesix, one of #RKelly’s associates, Michael Williams, has admitted to setting Azriel Clary’s vehicle on fire.</p>
<p>The 38-year-old pled guilty to one count of arson for destroying the vehicle that was located in Kissimmee, Florida, and rented Azriel&#8217;s father.</p>
<p>In exchange for the plea deal, prosecutors dropped the witness tampering charge. Michael Williams still faces up to 71 months in prison.</p>
<p>“The plea agreement is fair in that the witness tampering charge as it relates to R. Kelly will be dismissed at sentencing,” said defense lawyer Todd Spodek.</p>

<p>After the car was set on fire, a witness saw “an individual fleeing from the scene whose arm appeared to be lit on fire,” @pagesix reports.</p>
<p>Michael Williams was also seen traveling from Georgia to Florida before the crime and later returning.</p>
<p>Michael Williams was charged along with Donnell Arline and both were accused of attempting to keep R. Kelly’s alleged accusers silenced. Arline <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/r-kellys-associate-pleads-guilty-to-attempting-to-bribe-witness-not-to-testify-update/">pled guilty in February</a>.</p>
<p><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/federal-judge-grants-approval-to-move-r-kelly-to-nyc-for-sex-trafficking-trial-update/">Most recently</a>, the AP reported that a federal judge has approved R. Kelly to be moved from Chicago to New York City for his trial.</p>
<p>R.Kelly’s legal team will be fighting for his freedom in a Brooklyn federal court on August 9th. U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly decided on a virtual hearing and suggested that the government make plans to move R. Kelly to a New York jail, most likely the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. However, she didn’t put a time stamp on when the move should take place.</p>
<p>One of R.Kelly’s attorneys, Steve Greenberg, did speak out with the announcement. He said that R.Kelly is looking forward to the trial.</p>
