It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from Rachel Dolezal. The former President of the Spokane, Wash. NAACP chapter caught everyone’s attention when it was revealed that she is actually a Caucasian women, opposed to the African American woman she portrayed herself to be for many years.
According to Vibe, Dolezal took to her Insatagram account to announce her new memoir, “In Full Color: Finding My Place In A Black And White World,” which is expected to release in March 2017.
According to the books description, Dolezal talks about her upbringing and being raised by her white, Evangelical parents. And what led her to be the black woman she portrayed herself to be in recent years.
Now available for pre-order on Amazon, the description reads, “Her story is nuanced and complex, and in the process of telling it, she forces us to consider race in an entirely new light—not as a biological imperative, but as a function of the experiences we have, the culture we embrace, and, ultimately, the identity we choose.”
