Throughout Raven Symone’s career she has been pretty low key about her personal life. Everyone has speculated things about Raven but very rarely have the rumors been confirmed. Ray-Ray kind of reminds us of Queen Latifah….they are everywhere but their business is kept behind close doors!
A while ago, Raven Symone’s relationship with America’s Next Top Model contestant AzMarie was made public in the media. The couple was rumored to have broken up last year but Raven confirmed in her latest interview with Oprah on Own for Where Are They Now that they are still going strong.
When asked about her Beau Raven said:
I will say that I am in an amazing happy relationship with my partner.”
She also went on to say that she found out she liked both men and women when she was 12. Although she prefers to be free of labels and would much rather be called a human who likes humans. Her next statement was,
I’m An American…I’m not an African American….I’m American and that’s a colorless person.”
She went on to say that she doesn’t know how far back her roots go. All she knows is that she’s from Lousiana and this is why she prefers to be called American. Oprah warned her that Twitter might go off after her controversial statement but “Black Twitter” seems to be pretty calm as of now. Raven Symone can’t do any wrong but Ms. Thang you trippin’ for that one! Plain and simple! Sweetheart you are of African Decent whether you like it or not.

Because of how this land was shaped and with the geographical layout alk of us with pigment did not come from africa whose to say her original ancestors weren’t Egyptian who later settled here or Spaniards and throughout the generations has diluted into what she is now?!! All of us of pigment are not from Africa for a race of people who want to forge their own way and leave the “white man” behind we still fall pray to believe what they said happened!

With all due respect, please do your research. There are numerous studies that show that all people with pigment or lack thereof, came from Africa. You mention Egyptians and Spaniards in your comments, but are you not aware that the location of Egypt is on the continent of Africa? Also re: the fact that her ancestors could be Spaniards… I am a Spanish major in college who has studied the culture from many professors from many different countries, most of them published scholars who were taught that they too, were descended from Africa. The only true race is humanity. What you say proves you have fallen prey to what the unaware “white man” teaches.
