<p>Just two months after<a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/princess-love-reportedly-files-to-dismiss-divorce-from-ray-j/"> Princess Love pumped the breaks on her own divorce petition</a> against her husband Ray J, he surprised her by turning right around and filing for divorce himself.</p>
<p>Not only did fans not see it coming, but Princess exclusively told us that she didn&#8217;t either and <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/princess-love-found-out-about-ray-j-filing-for-divorce-on-social-media-source-confirms-she-has-been-ready-to-get-a-divorce-since-the-last-time-she-filed-exclusive-details/">had to find out about Ray J&#8217;s divorce filing through social media!</a></p>
<p>As the couple sorts things out, Ray J became quite emotional when speaking with <a href="https://www.etonline.com/ray-j-explains-why-he-filed-for-divorce-from-princess-love-exclusive-153118">Entertainment Tonight</a> on his decision to leave his wife.</p>

<p>&#8220;You know, I love her and I love my babies and it&#8217;s just personal, but she knows how I feel about her,&#8221; Ray J said. &#8220;I just think that I want to make sure everybody is happy, that everybody enjoys life and that this can help her smile more and enjoy who she is and enjoy her life. You know, sometimes it&#8217;s the best thing to do.&#8221;</p>
<p>Ray J shared he felt filing for divorce was the right thing to do at the time and didn&#8217;t consult with anyone as he feared he&#8217;d be flustered with too many opinions.</p>
<p>&#8220;I just went to God,&#8221; Ray J explained. &#8220;It&#8217;s still so early, I really don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s going to happen, how it happens, but I just want to make sure that my babies and my Princess is in a great place mentally and that they can enjoy life,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;My wife, if there&#8217;s somebody better out there that she wants to be with, then I have to respect that as well. But hey, I don&#8217;t know&#8230; I can&#8217;t say too much, but I love you, Princess. That&#8217;s what I can say.&#8221;</p>
<p>Ray J <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/ray-j-files-for-divorce-from-princess-love-asks-for-joint-custody-of-their-children/">filed for divorce on Monday</a> and is currently asking for joint custody of he and Princess&#8217; two children&#8211;Melody and Epik.
