On September 11, CBS cancelled Rihanna’s scheduled opening song for the Baltimore pregame show allegedly because she is a well known domestic violence victim and they wanted to walk on their tippy toes because of the Ray Rice domestic violence incident that has recently gained loads of publicity. Rihanna’s song “Run This Town” was supposed to play.
Of course CBS says this wasn’t the case. Sports Chairman Sean McManus claims that the reason they axed Rihanna’s song is because they thought the tone was inappropriate due to the seriousness of the Ray Rice situation.
Now you know they had to give you the politically correct answer to that baby! Did you really think CBS would come out with the real deal for why they took Ri Ri’s song off of the program?
Do you find anything inappropriate about Rihanna’s song especially in the context of football? No? We don’t either. This is why many people, including Rihanna took offense to the pull!
We all know that nobody puts baby in the corner!
Rihanna blasted CBS on Twitter for allegedly trying to pull her song back in on Thursday.
Apparently, CBS hit Ri Ri up and asked to play her song for the Thursday game and Rihanna said “no wheyy” (Barbados accent).
No really, her response was worse. Ri Ri said, “No F- you!”
If we were as powerful and rich as Rihanna that would probably be our answer too. It’s clear that they didn’t want the media making a huge thing about the fact that they had a domestic violence victim’s song playing during the Baltimore Ravens game.
