Snoop Dogg Takes To Social Media With A Message

On Thursday, November 16, Snoop Dogg took to his official social media channels to share a brief photo message with fans. The 52-year-old rapper shared an image of himself holding his hands in a prayer stance. Additionally, the image featured a few words.

“After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” the photo read. “Please respect my privacy at this time.”

The rapper’s signature appeared underneath the blurb.

Furthermore, the father of four also shared a brief caption with his photo post.

“I’m giving up smoke.”

To note, Snoop Dogg’s public persona has been associated with his indulgence in marijuana. In 2013, the rapper detailed his ability to smoke “81 blunts” per day.

Social Media Reacts

Social media users entered The Shade Room’s comment section to immediately share their reactions to the rapper’s statement. Some jokingly compared the rapper’s words to a eulogy.

Instagram user @tynicolle remarked, “‘Respect my privacy'” like the weed just passed away 😂”
While Instagram user @no_manners added, “Respect my privacy = I’m finna be irritable as hell”
Instagram user @uknow23k remarked, “…released a eulogy like a family member just passed 😭”

Meanwhile, others appeared skeptical about Snoop Dogg’s announcement.

Instagram user @jaybchillinbruh wrote, “Maybe he means ‘smoke’ as in beef. Cause he didn’t say ‘smoking.'”
While Instagram user @poppitforpimpp asked, “What if ‘Smoke’ is the families pet, named ‘Smoke’ and he’s not referring to weed 😂 What if?
Instagram user @doublemintlounge firmly remarked, “Well he didn’t say smoke-ING so imma wait for the part ✌🏾”

Snoop Dogg May Be Joined In Efforts By His Son Cordell Broadus

At this time, it remains unclear whether Snoop Dogg was indeed referring to giving up smoking marijuana in his latest social media posts. However, the rapper’s second eldest son, Cordell Broadus, appears to support his father’s announcement and may even be joining him in his decision.

Earlier today, Broadus took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share that he and his father “had a long talk” and “will take it day by day.” Additionally, the tweet featured smoke emojis.

Broadus even reposted his father’s statement on Instagram with the caption, “I stand with you Dogg I’m giving up smoke 2.”

To note, Broadus’s post was also reposted by his mother and Snoop Dogg’s wife, Shante Broadus, on her Instagram Story.
