<p>It has been over a year since Taylor Swift expressed her disgust with the masters to her early albums being sold to Scooter Braun, and it looks like the battle might not be over. We&#8217;ve previously reported about Taylor calling Scooter out for being a &#8220;bully&#8221; as she sought to purchase her masters, but claims she was not given the chance.</p>
<p>It is now being reported by <a href="https://variety.com/2020/music/news/scooter-braun-sells-taylor-swift-big-machine-masters-1234832080/">Variety</a> that Scooter sold Taylor&#8217;s masters to a company called Shamrock Holdings for more than $300 million&#8211;more than double the estimated worth of Taylor&#8217;s early catalogue. The deal included Taylor&#8217;s first six projects, including her self-titled debut album. Variety reports her early collection of music was believed to be worth a mere $140 million.</p>
<p>Taylor took to Twitter with a lengthy message about how the process has been going, and says that Scooter&#8217;s team made it nearly impossible for her to enter negotiations for her music. She claims his team asked her to sign an NDA prior to negotiations, which would ban her from saying anything about Scooter, unless it was positive.</p>
<p>&#8220;Scooter&#8217;s team wanted me to sign an ironclad NDA stating I would never say another word about Scooter Braun unless it was positive, before we could even look at the financial records of BMLG (which is always the first step in a purchase of this nature),&#8221; she says. &#8220;So, I would have to sign a document that would silence me forever before I could even have a chance to bid on my own work.&#8221;</p>
<p>Taylor goes on to say that she was contacted by Shamrock, and learned that they signed a deal with Scooter agreeing to avoid contact with Taylor and her team. She also claims the terms of the deal will allow Scooter to continue profiting from her old music, videos and album art &#8220;for many years.&#8221;</p>
<p>Nevertheless, Taylor says that she has begun re-recording her old music, and remains hopeful that she can create a partnership with Shamrock and stay connected to the work she cherishes so much.</p>
<p>&#8220;I want to thank you guys for supporting me through this ongoing saga, and I can&#8217;t wait for you to hear what I&#8217;ve been dreaming up.&#8221;</p>
