Yall, NBA legend #ScottiePippen just threw a little shade at our good bruvas on the #GoldenStateWarriors! In an interview with @DimeMagazine, he says that the team is not an NBA dynasty and says #KevinDurants fairly recent addition is the reason why.
You say theyre on a dynasty run, but I dont see it that way, Pippen told @ DimeMagazine. They picked up probably the best player in the game after they won their first championship. I dont consider that a dynasty run. They went out and got the best player in the game after they won their first championship and after they lost in the Finals defending their first title.
I dont see them as a dynasty, I think bringing Kevin Durant in really changed my respect as to where I rank this team going forward in terms of a dynasty.
Pippen went on to say that the Warriors havent done anything special in his eyes. He brought up the team winning 73 games during the 2015-2016 season, but failing to win the championship that year.
I thought they were organically built up until they went out and got Durant, Pippen said. And I think that was the change, but I dont really see Golden State as a dynasty. Dynasties are teams that does things special, does things different.
He continued, Even in the year that they won 73 games, they lost the title. So I cant consider that part of their dynasty. That wasnt a dynasty season. So then they came back the next season and won a title, so I cant back track and say lets add last season to it because Kevin Durant wasnt with them at that time.
