<p>Law enforcement officials reportedly plan to extradite former NFL player <strong>Sergio Brown </strong>to Illinois following his arrest in California. <em>TMZ </em><a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/10/11/ex-nfler-sergio-brown-arrested-weeks-after-mothers-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports that his arrest</a> warrant listed first-degree murder concerning the death of his mother, <strong>Myrtle Brown</strong>.</p>
<p>The outlet reports that it&#8217;s been about four weeks since police discovered his <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/maurica-manyan-shot-training-washington-d-c-library-tsr-investigates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mother&#8217;s dead body</a> in a creek in Maywood on Sept. 16. The neighborhood is reportedly about 16 miles outside Chicago. A Cook County medical examiner ruled her death a homicide after finding assault injuries on the 73-year-old related to her passing.</p>
<p>Soon after the news, Brown shared videos of himself via social media, denying any involvement and calling her death &#8220;fake news.&#8221; Additional social-based videos showed him seemingly partying in Mexico amid the investigation.</p>

<p>According to <em>CNN</em>, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/11/us/sergio-brown-nfl-mother-death/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">police booked</a> Sergio Brown into a San Diego jail on Tuesday (Oct. 10). Mexican authorities reportedly located the former athlete after learning of his arrest warrant. They detained him as he attempted to re-enter the US. A <em>CNN</em> source said US authorities knew about his whereabouts as of Sept. 19.</p>
<p>He is also reportedly being held on a &#8220;felony fugitive arrest warrant,&#8221; per <em>CNN</em>.</p>
<p>As of last week, the family of Myrtle and Sergio Brown reportedly urged US authorities to expedite the investigation.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;We implore law enforcement agencies, particularly the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, to work diligently and thoroughly in pursuit of truth and accountability for Myrtle Jean Simmons-Brown. No family should bear the weight of uncertainty regarding the circumstances of their loved one’s passing,&#8221; the family statement said, per <em>CNN</em>.</p></blockquote>
<p>The <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/young-dolphs-wife-releases-statement-how-am-i-going-to-tell-my-babies-that-daddy-is-never-coming-home/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement adds</a> that there has been no contact between Segio and his family following his mother&#8217;s discovery. However, their statement reportedly said they <em>&#8220;continue to pray for this immediate and safe return to the US&#8221; </em>while advocating for <em>&#8220;positive change and justice.&#8221; </em></p>
<p>The statement also described Myrtle&#8217;s character before her passing.</p>
