<p>Roomies, &#8216;The Talk&#8217; returned to your television screens on Monday with a new episode. Co-host Sheryl Underwood <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/sheryl-underwood-speaks-out-following-her-exchange-with-sharon-osbourne-on-the-talk-audio/">got candid</a> about how it felt to exchange words with former co-host Sharon Osbourne about a month ago.</p>
<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t want to escalate things with Sharon because I thought I was having a conversation with a friend, but also I knew I had to be an example for others to follow because I didn&#8217;t want to be perceived as the angry Black woman and that really scared me,&#8221; Sheryl said. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t want to be that.&#8221;</p>
<p>As you may remember, Sharon publicly showed her support for British journalist Piers Morgan after he faced criticism and a subsequent job loss for his comments on Megan Markle&#8217;s Oprah interview. Sharon brought her supportive stance with her to &#8216;The Talk&#8217; and ended up in a heated debate with her co-hosts—Sheryl in particular.</p>
<p>&#8220;I will ask you again Sheryl… and don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me,&#8221; Sharon said during the on-air exchange. &#8220;This is the situation, you tell me where you have heard him say racist things. Educate me.&#8221;</p>
<p>Afterwards, Sharon issued a public apology, but continued to <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/cbs-launches-an-internal-review-after-sharon-osbournes-heated-discussion-with-her-co-hosts-on-the-talk-over-her-support-for-piers-morgan/">face heavy online backlash</a> and eventually decided to leave the &#8216;The Talk.&#8217;</p>
<p>Today&#8217;s new episode —the first since the fallout— opened with a message from Sheryl saying the episode would be &#8220;unlike any other&#8221; they&#8217;ve had before. The purpose of the episode was to discuss the incident, its emotional toll and to find healing while showing that anyone can become &#8220;comfortable&#8221; having &#8220;difficult conversations.&#8221;</p>

<p>The remaining cast, including Carrie Ann Inaba, Amanda Kloots and Elaine Welteroth, sat with mental health expert Dr. Donald E. Grant and life coach Dr. Anita Phillips <a href="https://people.com/tv/sheryl-underwood-addresses-why-she-didnt-answer-sharon-osbourne-texts-as-the-talk-returns/">to discuss race and healing</a> during the &#8216;The Talk,&#8217; according to People.</p>
<p>&#8220;I wanted to remain calm and remain focused,&#8221; Sheryl also shared. &#8220;It&#8217;s difficult to go back to that day because I just feel the trauma. I feel fearful, you know, a little apprehensive.&#8221;</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Sharon took to her Instagram and Twitter accounts to share an unrelated video of a bear rubbing up against a pole. The song &#8220;Pony&#8221; by Ginuwine can be heard in the video&#8217;s background.</p>
