<p>SNL&#8217;s <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/?s=Chris+redd&;post_type=post" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Chris Redd</strong></a> was punched in the face and left bloodied outside of the Comedy Cellar in Lower Manhattan, where he was scheduled to perform Wednesday night.</p>
<p>Police reported Redd exited his car around 9:40 p.m. when a man, who witnesses say appeared to be a security guard, charged up to him and struck him in the face, according to <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2022/10/27/chris-redd-attacked-at-comedy-cellar-nyc-snl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>TMZ</strong></a>.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Former SNL Star Punched, Blooded Outside Of NYC Comedy Club, Suspect Still On The Loose</h3>
<p>The 37-year-old comedian was bleeding profusely from his nose, and was taken to nearby Bellevue Hospital for treatment, the outlet reports. He&#8217;s since been released.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the suspect reportedly fled the scene before police arrived, and no arrests have been made as of Thursday. The suspect was described as wearing blue &#8220;security&#8221; jacket, along with black pants, white and gray sneakers and a bucket hat.</p>
<p>On Tuesday, Redd <a href="https://twitter.com/Reddsaidit/status/1584965053412827136" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>tweeted</strong></a>: &#8220;I&#8217;m in New York doing shows so pull up with y&#8217;all sexy a**es! And stream the hell out of my special Nov. 3rd on @HBOmax.&#8221;</p>

<p>Redd was a cast member of &#8220;Saturday Night Live&#8221; for five seasons before leaving the show last month.</p>
<p>Witnesses tell the outlet that Chris&#8217; Greg Yuna chain, one of which was commissioned by Ridiculousness co-host Steelo Brim for $250K last year, was snatched amidst the assault, however the chain links fell apart on the street during the scuffle.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Suspect Described As Looking Like Security Guard, Attempted Chain Snatch Amidst The Scuffle</h3>
<p>The suspect ultimately fled without stealing the broken chain, which was recovered by Redd, according to TMZ. Police still don&#8217;t know the exact motive for the alleged assault.</p>
<p>Other witnesses said authorities snapped photos of Chris&#8217; injuries, including a deep cut on his nose.</p>
<p>In shocking video obtained by TMZ, people can be seen gathering around Chris to assist him, as blood spilled on the sidewalk just steps away from the Comedy Cellar.</p>
<p>Last month, <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/chris-redd-is-dating-kenan-thompsons-ex-wife-but-his-fellow-snl-castmate-says-hes-unbothered-by-it-and-that-theres-no-bad-blood/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Shade Room</strong></a> reported Redd started dating former &#8220;SNL&#8221; costar Kenan Thompson&#8217;s estranged wife, Christina Evangeline.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Assault Comes A Month After News Broke Of Redd Dating Former SNL Castmate Kenan Thompson&#8217;s Ex-Wife</h3>
<p>Thompson was surprisingly unbothered by the relationship, as insiders say there is no bad blood between the two former castmates.</p>
<p>Thompson and wife Christina Evangeline formally called it quits in May after 11-years of marriage. The couple had already been reportedly living separately and had intended on divorcing since at least 2019, TMZ reports.</p>
<p>The pandemic may have played a role in delaying the finalization of the divorce proceedings, but now that they seem to be legally de-tangled, Christina appears to be dating again, and dating none other than Thompson’s Saturday Night Live castmate in Chris Redd.</p>
