<p>Get ready to “stomp” into theaters Kirk Franklin fans! It has just been announced that the legendary gospel singer is set to have a biopic about his life and career developed by Sony and produced by Devon Franklin.</p>
<p>Celebrity biopics have continuously proven to be huge hits at the box-office—and Kirk Franklin is hoping to be next in line to captivate audiences with <a href="https://deadline.com/2019/07/gospel-singer-kirk-franklin-biopic-sony-devon-franklin-1202643675/">his life story</a>. According to @Deadline, the currently untitled project will be produced by Devon Franklin, who has an impressive string of faith-based films under his belt already.</p>
<p>The as-yet-untitled project is reported to take a dive deep into Kirk’s life before he became one of the most iconic and beloved figures in the world of modern gospel music.</p>
<p>The synopsis of the film reads:</p>
<p><em>“The film will follow the 14-time Grammy-winning artist from his humble beginning through his meteoric rise to fame as he changes the face of gospel music and battles his demons in the process.”</em></p>
<p>The film definitely has a lot of material to pull from, including Kirk’s history-making 1993 debut album which was the first in gospel history to sell 1 million copies. Additionally, with his latest album, <em>Long Live Love</em>, he is the first artist to land on top of all five of Billboard&#8217;s gospel charts.</p>
