<p>A speeding Las Vegas woman who was drunk and high on cocaine crashed into another drunk driver who in turn was also high on meth, tragically killing them, with authorities announcing charges months after the deadly crash.</p>
<p>Summer Butler, 37, now faces charges of DUI resulting in death, reckless driving, and being in possession of a controlled substance in connection with the fatal crash, which occurred in January, according to recently obtained court records viewed by <a href="https://www.8newsnow.com/crime/speeding-woman-on-cocaine-kills-drunk-driver-high-on-meth-in-north-las-vegas-police-say/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>8 News Now I-Team</strong></a>.</p>
<p>North Las Vegas police reported a two-car crash on January 14, where a car was making a U-Turn in a center lane when it crashed into another vehicle, driven by Butler.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Driver, Passenger Ejected From Vehicle, Suspect &#8220;Acted Erratic&#8221; And Had To Be Sedated</h3>
<p>Police said the driver and passenger from the first car were both ejected from the vehicle.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Butler&#8217;s car continued to travel about 150 feet before come to a stop. All three were transported to a nearby hospital, where police said Butler &#8220;was acting erratic (and) and to be sedated by medical staff,&#8221; the outlet reports.</p>

<p>A police report noted that &#8220;a small baggie containing a white substance fell out of the left side of her bra&#8221; as a trauma paramedic attended to Butler&#8217;s injuries. The substance later tested positive for cocaine.</p>
<p>Blood tests confirmed that she had cocaine and cannabinoids in her system at the time of the crash, and revealed she had a blood alcohol level of .102, above that of the legal limit. The legal limit in Nevada is .08.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Victim, Suspect Were Both Under The Influence At Time Of Crash, Blood Tests Show</h3>
<p>The victim who died in the crash, who was not identified, similarly was drunk and high at the time of the accident, with a blood alcohol here over three times the legal limit and tests showing a substantial amount of methamphetamine in their system, according to police.</p>

<p>Butler was driving 70 mph in the moments before the collision, in a 40 mph zone. Data from her car shows she was traveling at an exact speed of 73 mph at the time of the crash.</p>
<p>Court records show that Butler had previously pleaded guilty to a DUI in Omaha, Nebraska back in 2017, according to <a href="https://ktla.com/news/speeding-woman-on-cocaine-kills-drunk-driver-high-on-meth-in-north-las-vegas-police-say/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>KTLA</strong></a>.</p>
<p>In June, authorities issued a warrant for Butler&#8217;s arrest months after the deadly crash.</p>
<p>She was released on $15,000 bail on August 29, with orders to remain abstinent from alcohol and drugs as a part of her terms of release.</p>
