<p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">Christina Milian is heading back to television on Starz&#8217;s drama series “<em>Step Up</em>,” inspired by the popular film franchise under the same name. It was announced today that she would be starring as Collette. Christina has big shoes to fill as she will take over the lead, which was originally played by the late <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/ryan-dorsey-files-wrongful-death-suit-on-behalf-of-naya-riveras-son-claiming-the-boat-she-was-in-was-unsafe/">Naya Rivera</a>, according to <a href="https://people.com/tv/christina-milian-replaces-naya-rivera-in-starz-step-up-series/">People</a> magazine.</p>
<p>Christina spoke out about receiving the role. She stated, &#8220;I am so excited to join the &#8216;Step Up&#8217; family. I know I have massive shoes to fill. Naya was incredible. I hope to honor Naya, her family, friends, and fans with a great performance.&#8221; Starz had initially announced the upcoming season in August 2020, just one month after Naya’s passing, started filming this month.</p>
<p>Ne-Yo is also an actor in the series who plays Sage Odom. His character is the legendary founder of Atlanta&#8217;s &#8220;High Water Performing Art School.&#8221; Christina and Ne-Yo are expected to have some entertaining scenes together as their characters are partners in art, business, and love.</p>
<p>Ne-Yo also spoke out about Christina taking on the role. &#8220;There is no replacing Naya. Let&#8217;s get that straight. Her spirit lives on in our memories and every part of what this show is and will be,&#8221; said Ne-Yo. &#8220;Christina has big shoes to fill, and she knows it, which speaks to her poise and respect as a person and an artist.&#8221;</p>
<p>He continued, &#8220;I&#8217;m more than certain of her ability to bring an energy and light to this character that Naya&#8217;s fans, as well as the rest of the world, will love. We&#8217;ve welcomed Christina with absolute open arms and have rallied around her with love and support. I&#8217;m excited and can&#8217;t wait for the world to see this!&#8221;</p>
<p>The network will air the first two seasons of the series, beginning on March 5th across all platforms. Currently, a premiere date for season 3 has not been announced yet.</p>
