Being a ride or die chick comes with some consequences if you’re man is constantly in trouble with the law, and “Suge” Knight’s fiancée learned that the hard way. Just months after she struck a plea deal to avoid time behind bars, Toi-Lin Kelly, 37, was sentenced to three years in the slammer for a probation violation connected to her fiancé’s murder trial.
“Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Douglas Sortino ruled that Toi-Lin Kelly, 37, helped Knight violate a court order limiting his jailhouse phone communications by aiding him in arranging interviews with the producers of a BET documentary about Death Row Records, the record label he founded in 1988,” the Times reported.
“Sortino also found that she was indirectly communicating with Knight through a private investigator, violating the terms of probation he granted her in October.”
“To me it’s pretty blatant, and frankly, jaw-dropping,” Sortino said, adding that this was a slap in the face to him.
She got put on probabtion last year after prosecutors said she sold surveillance footage, connected to Suge’s murder trail, to TMZ for $55,000, after a judge specifically asked that it not be shared.
She pleaded no contest to conspiring to violate a court order and was ordered to pay $55,000 in restitution. She also had to perform 100 hours of community service and serve five years on probabtion.
Looks like she got plenty of time to think about her actions.
